What is the Bible? (Part 1)

The Bible is a written record. It records events, conversations, poetry, prophecies. Some believe that the Bible is old and irrelevant but history reveals that the Bible is much more than that. The Bible remains one of the most sold books in the world. The Bible is not only read by Christians. It is read by persons from many different religions. It is read by Presidents, Prime Ministers, Military Generals and CEOs.

The Bible is full of wisdom. It contains strategies for war and business. It teaches us how to prosper in life and in human relationships. It has survived the dark ages, the enlightenment period, the crusades, the cold war, pandemics and epidemics. The Bible is one of the greatest books in existence. It contains words which were not only relevant when they were written but words which are still relevant today.

But what really is the Bible? The Bible indeed is a written record but it is a written record of one of the greatest experiences that mankind has and will ever have in this world: The interactions between a Creator and His creation. That Creator is the God of the Bible.

Therefore, the Bible is a written record of how God (the Creator) revealed Himself to human beings (His creation) in many different times and in many different ways.

Long ago God spoke many times and in many ways to our ancestors through the prophets. (Hebrews 1:1 NLT)
