God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God-Ephesians 2:8 NLT
Has anyone ever opened a door for you or gave you access to something that you did not ask for? Grace is similar to that open door and that access you received without having to exert any physical strength or pay any money to obtain. The Apostle Paul told the Church at Ephesus that it was the grace of God that gave them access to salvation. We know that grace is a gift or “God’s unmerited favour”. Grace is a benefit that we do not deserve but receive anyway because of the favour of the giver.
God opened the door of grace to us. In fact, God opened the door of grace to the entire world. In John 3:16 we read:
“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life” (NLT)
The door of grace leads to many benefits. One of those benefits is eternal life. Those who enter through that door will live forever. What a wonderful privilege!
