Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love. – 1 Corinthians 13:13 New Living Translation
The Lord of the Rings is widely known for the presence and power of rings. In the book, three rings were given to the elves and rings were given to the other beings on the earth. The Bible reveals that three rings of power were given to us, not by the dark Lord Sauron, but by the Lord of Light, our Father in Heaven. The Apostle Paul told the Church at Corinth, that there are three things which will last forever:
Faith, Hope and Love
A circle is a shape without an ending. Therefore, faith, hope and love are like three rings which have no ending. They are the three rings of power that God has given to us. They are unbroken in importance and unbroken in power.
The rings of faith, hope and love were not only used in the New Testament. They were used widely in the Old Testament. Abraham, Isaac and Jacob used them. David used them. The prophets spoke about them. Everything that God did and said in the Old Testament by Himself and through His servants all led us to a greater revelation of these rings of power through the revelation and teaching of Jesus Christ.
The rings of power in the Bible are eternal. They will endure fiery trials. They will endure war, famine, drought. They will endure to the end. Join me as we look at the power of these three rings: Faith, Hope and Love.
